DIED - ALPHONSE DABADIE After a long illness, Mr. Alphonse Dabadie passed away at his home in Ventress, Friday evening, March 4, 1938. He was born in Pointe Coupee 76 years ago, and when a young man married Miss Blanche Blanchard, and to this union was born three sons and one daughter, Roland Dabadie of Baton Rouge, J. Cherie Dabadie of Jennings, Levy Dabadie of New Roads and Mrs A. W. Isaac of Baton Rouge, who with their mother, survive him. Mr. Dabadie was a farmer and always lived on his plantation. He was genial by nature and had many friends who will miss him from his accustomed place. The funeral which, was held the old church of the Immaculate Conception, at Chenal Sunday March, 6, was attended by a large crowd of friends and relatives. Rev. Father Savoure officiated at the service and the interment was in the Chenal cemetary. There is no death, but just a transition into a brighter and more perfect life. The Banner condoles with the sorrowing family in their great bereavement. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Transcriber note; Alphonse was preceeded in death by his oldest daughter Belle (1891 - 1913) who was married to Thomas Edwin Lefeaux in 1911.
