DIED - J. Amedee Dabadie J. Amedee Dabadie passed away Monday morning, March 16, 1942 at the Mosley Clinic, New Roads after an illness of a few weeks, aged 55 years, 11 months. He was born in Pointe Coupee Parish, and resided here all his life, though he traveled extensively throughout the United States and enjoyed these annual trips. He was a man who numbered his friends by all who knew him-Fair and just in his dealings with men, he won the respect and high regard of everyone, and no man in this parish could be more missed. He never married, but loved his brothers and sister and his stepmother with an unselfish love seldom seen in modern times. His funeral services were conducted by Rev. Father Savoure in the old Chenal Church of Immaculate Conception and were attended by a host of friends. He is survived by four brothers, Fernand and Lawrence of Ventress, Charles of Baton Rouge, Felix of Houma, one sister Mrs. Emile Lemoine of Port Allen and his stepmother of Ventress. (Personal aside) Amedee was described by my father Lawrence Dabadie as "A Prince". Amedee was revered by my grandmother, Cornilia Picard Dabadie his stepmother, until her death in 1965. She never ceased describing the kindness and assistance afforded to her by Amedee in the nine years following the death of her husband Francois Simon Dabadie in 1933. James L. Dabadie 12/25/1998
