Exactly 1.8 miles down this road on the left is the Cloverdale Cemetery, which according to natives is an old African-American burial ground that has not been maintained for many years. There is no sign, and cemetery cannot be seen from the road. A short distance beyond this heavily wooded area is cleared land and a large pond. A dirt road leads into the woods and runs along the right side of the cemetery which appears to be an acre or more in size. The remains of an old fence is visible on the front near the Coulee Crossing Road, and across the back. Large trees have been kept down, but small hardwood trees and dense brush cover the area. The property was impassable except for a small area near the back where I found four stones, similar in size and design. There may have been more stones, but the brush was so thick it was not possible for me to go any further. ! Tomb stone inscriptions recorded by Mary Parker Partain, November 1991, and submitted by Jane Parker McManus Murray, Jennett - 1881/1948 Murray, Jeff - 1860/1947 Murray, Beverly - 1873/1940 [These stones were in a row. The fourth stone was about 25 feet from these, and had no information. The nameplate was missing. Many depressions are visible in this area.]
