Cotile Cemetery, Rapides Parish Louisiana Submitted by Jane Parker McManus ********************************************** Copyright. Permission to enter the area should be obtained from Jack Schultz, President of the Club (1993). The burial ground which sits on top of a hill was originally quite large, probably about two acres. Part of a fence remains along one side. Recently, a logging road was cut through the center of the cemetery, and many graves were disturbed. The cemetery has not been used in many years, therefore, it has not been maintained. There are many depressions indicating lost graves, and most of the funeral markers are unreadable. The tombstones which remain are all in good shape; however, many have fallen over while others are covered by tall grass. Inscriptions were recorded by Mary Parker Partain and Jack Fraziar, Jr., in February 1993. Submitted by Jane P.
