Although directions are a little complicated, all roads are well marked in this area. South on US Hwy. 165 from Alexandria, turn left at the blinking light in Forest Hill> Cross the railroad tracks, and turn right immediately onto LA Hwy. 497. Continue for 2 blocks, and turn left onto Blue Lake Road. Stay on this road for 1.0 miles, and turn right onto Elwood Road... Go .6 mile and turn right again onto unimproved Brewer Cemetery Road (red-dirt road). There is a fenced area about .5 miles down this road, but is so overgrown with brush and trees that it can easily be missed. The road is not always passable, but the cemetery can be reached on foot quite easily. In a separate fenced area directly behind the Brewer (Moore) Cemetery, several more headstones were found. Brush and fallen trees made it almost impassable, and recording the information was extremely difficult. There was no gate, and the wire fence was down on one side. Locals refer to this as the Henderson cemetery. There were some very pretty stones in this old abandoned graveyard.
