Hoffman Family Cemetery, Rapides Parish Louisiana Submitted by Jane Parker McManus ********************************************** Copyright. All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Directions: The Hoffman Family Cemetery is located in downtown Pineville, one block off Main Street. From Main Street just past Mt. Olivet Cemetery, turn north onto Ball Street. This small abandoned cemetery is not fenced, however, three sides are fenced by owners of the adjacent property. The front side next to the street is open. There is only one tombstone left in one corner of this cemetery because on a Halloween night many years ago, vandals broke up the other stones, and they have not been replaced. According to a family member, George Hoffman, son of Lewis C. Hoffman, other burials in this cemetery were four brothers: Charlie, Elijah, Wyatt, and Alex Hoffman. A fifth brother, Lewis C. Hoffman is buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery off Esler Field Road. Lewis was the youngest of the Hoffman brothers and he died in 1935 at 79 years of age. I am indebted to Mr. Hoffman for providing this information. He takes care of the plot where his family members were buried. Inscription and information recorded by Mary Parker Partain, September 1992.
