Marler Cemetery, Rapides Parish Louisiana Submitted by Jane Parker McManus ********************************************** Copyright. Continue for 3.0 miles, and turn left onto R. Goleman Road. Continue for approximately 1-1/2 miles. Cross cattleguard, turn right immediately onto dirt road (no sign on the road). Cemetery is 1/2 mile down this road, about one acre in size, fenced with scattered burials and possibly many lost graves. A local resident in this community indicates that two Indians (tribe unknown) are buried here. Although he said there are no markers for the Indian burials, the resident was able to give me their names. There are two small concrete markers to the left of the gate near the fence that has the names of the two Indians on it. Whether they are buried in that exact location or not, I don't know. Tombstone inscriptions were recorded by Mary Parker Partain June 1991, and submitted by Jane Parker McManus.
