Directions:  From Alexandria, go west on LA Hwy. 28 to Gardner and turn 
left at the caution light.  Continue for about four miles, and turn left 
onto LA Hwy. 1199.  Go 6.5 miles on this road, and turn left again onto 
Elmer Cemetery Road.  Paul-Rougeou cemetery is located about .2 miles at 
the end of this road.  The sign on the hurricane fence reads:  "Elmer 
Cemetery," and the area is about two acres in size.

Near the center of the cemetery on the right inside the main fenced area, 
is a small area enclosed with an old iron fence, still in good condition.  
On the beautiful wrought-iron gate, the words "M. Paul" are engraved on a 
small iron panel.

Most of the burials inside this enclosure are old, but a few in front are 
recent burials.  Tombstone inscriptions were recorded in rows, beginning in 
the area, by Mary Parker Partain, April 1992.
