STRANGE CEMETERY - RAPIDES PARISH

From Alexandria, Take US Hwy. 165 South to Woodworth.  About 3.0 miles
South of Woodworth, turn left onto Fish Hatchery Road and continue for 2.7
miles.  Turn left onto Martin Springs Road (paved part of the way, and dirt
which is usually passable).  The cemetery is .3 miles on the left.  An old
iron fence encloses a small area which is maintained, but sometimes strewn
with trash by people who just "park" there.  The cemetery is listed as
"Carnal" on one map, and "Duplissey" on another, but local residents refer
to it as "Strange."  

Tombstone inscriptions were recorded by Mary Parker Partain April 1991, and
submitted by Jane Parker McManus on 20 January 2000.
