On motion Brother G. N. Strother was granted the power to extend the privilidges of the church at Walnut Grove School Houses. No further business coming up, adjourned in order. A. D. Mayo, Mod. Willie Strother, Clerk. Sunday May 23, 1897. The pastor preached. Aaron Doyl and Anna Ashworth were restored to membership, and Vicey Doyl and Lucinia Doyl were received on a profession of faith. A. D. Mayo, Mod. Willie Strother, Clerk. Saturday June 26, 1897. Rev. G. N. Strother and Pastor A. D. Mayo preached. Mrs. ?etry Willis was received for baptism. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. The charge against Wm. Wilson was ordered erased from the minutes. The church was reported not in peace. A charge was prederred against J. G. Strother and Willie Ware, and deferred for a month. Peter Perkins was excluded. After confession for drinking intoxicating liquor, Critenden Perking was pardoned. A resolution was then offered and adopted: That the former . . be appointed as committee . . for the past records of the church . . old book to the new one . . . that they be given the power . . any part of the old minutes . . . may see fit. On motion . . . were empowered to write a . . . covenant and that it . .. read and adopted at our next regular meeting. Pastor Mayo was granted the priviledge of changing appointment with Pastor J. H. Caruth. A. D. Mayo, Mod. Willie Strother, Clerk Saturday July 27, '97. Elders T. R. Neal and J. H. Caruth preached. Dinner was served. J. H. Caruth read the sixth chapter of Galatians and G. N. Strother led in prayer. Minutes of the former meeting were read and approved. James Ware reported that J. G. Strother and Willis Ware had become reconciled. The committee appointed to write the records of the church was not ready to report, and the matter was postponed until the next meeting. A. D. Mayo and Willie Strother were chosen as Pastor and Clerk for the next year. Fellowship was withdrawn from Wm. Wilson. Rasmus Stanley, O. S. Willis, G. N. Strother, John Strother and Andrew Rodriguez were chosen as messengers to the association, and James Ware, F. Perkins, Aaron Doyl, James Willis and Harvey Odom as alternates. J. H. Caruth, Moderator pro tem. Willie Strother, Clerk Sunday July 25. Elder J. H. Caruth baptized Sinai Buxton. J. H. Caruth and T. R. Neal preached.
