The charge against sisters Strother and Buxton was rescinded. An offering in cash and pledges to missions was taken amounting to $4.30. Brother J. H. Strother was chosen as missionary. Brother Frank Perkins was chosen as messenger to meet with the executive board. Joseph Draddy and wife were granted letters of dismission from the church. G. N. Strother, Moderator. June 26, 1989. The church met at 10 a.m. and an hour and took an intermission. Devotional services were conducted by J. H. Strother and A. D. Mayo. A. D. Mayo, Mod. Willie Strother, Clerk June 27, 1898. The church met in a call conference. In the absence of the pastor and clerk, G. N. Strother was chosen as moderator and D. B. Perkins clerk. The moderator stated that the purpose of the meeting was to choose a messenger to meet with the Executive Board of the Association. D. B. Perkins volunteered to go. G. N. Strother, Mod. pro tem. D. B. Perkins, Clerk. July 23, 1898. Devotional exercises were conducted by A. D. Mayo and G. N. Strother. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. A. D. Mayo and Willis Strother were chosen as pastor and clerk for the following year. D. B. Perkins, Henry Willis, John Strother, Alec. Strother and G. N. Strother were chosen as messengers to the association, and Frank Perkins, Joe Willis and Willie Strother as alternates. The moderator was authorized to appoint messengers to the district meeting, and named Willie Strother and Henry Willis as messengers and John West and James Willis as alternates.
