By appointment church met in conference. Brother W. R. Hargrove was appointed Moderator and John Strother, Jr. selected Clerk. The following resolution was unanimously adopted by the members whose names are attached to said resolution. RESOLUTION Be it Resolved that inasmuch as Bethel No. 2 Baptist Church has been in a cold state for some time, and being left without an undershepherd, we have neglected our duties as servants of Christ, the great Head of the church, and done many things contrary to His commands: therefore be it resolved, That we this day come together confessing our errors, and renew our covenant to keep house for the Lord to the best of our abilities, recognizing the fact that in all we attempt we must rely upon the blessings and favor of God. Nichols called to the care of the church for the balance of the associational year, Brother Walter Cloud and John Strother were appointed to visit Brother Nichols and notify him of the call. The church then organized a Sunday school, appointing Brother John Strother, Jr. Superintendent, and Brother James Willis Assistant Super- intendent. Brother James Willis and J. Houston Strother were appointed teachers for the boys and Sister Hanna Perkins and Mrs. Martha Perkins teachers for the girls. We had preaching by Rev. David Belvin. Time fixed for the first meeting of the Sunday school; the fourth Lord's day in each month. No further business coming up we were dismissed in order Benediction by D. M. Belvin. W. R. Hargrove, Mod. John Strother Jr., Clerk. Sunday Feb 26, 1888. The church met to previous appointment. Prayer by W. R. Hargrove, preaching by D. M. Belvin. The privileges of the church extended. None offered. Went into conference. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. On motion resolved that the call for Brother L. M. Nichols be repeated, and that he be notified by letter. Adjourned in order. W. R. Hargrove, Mod. John Strother Jr., Clerk. April 8, 1888. The church met to previous appointment. Prayer by W. R. Hargrove. Sunday school duties discharged in order. After ten minuted intermission again assembled and had preaching by Rev. L. M. Nichols. Privileges of the church were extended, and Sisters Carolyn M. (Mrs. John) Strother, Lydia (Mrs. Matthew) Willis, Tena (Mrs. Alexander) Willis, Mary (Mrs. Jas.) Willis, Can D. (Mrs. Jesse) Willis came up confessing their errors and expressing a desire to enter into a renewal of their covenant. Went into conference. minutes of the last meeting read and approved.
