Forest Hill La.   Dear Sir.
In regard to the letters to Mrs Anna Bass and their coming to
your Post Office. Mrs Bass filed her application for the pension
some time ago and she also filed the army papers of her husband
who belonged to a Texas Regiment, and they follow him up to the
close of the war. His record is better the 99 out of every 
hundred from your parish, I mean by this that she filed better
papers than most of the applicants coming from the parish, 
because the papers are clinched with his parole at the close of
the war.

Refering to the above answer to the letter which I wrote you The
parties who has been enquiring has never had anything to say
regarding her proof, what they wanted to know, who is she Thare
is not any person within Twenty miles of this place by name of
Anna Bass, the Post Master of this place says tha no other mail 
besides that from your office cmes here to that adress, and that
he does not know who she is, This thing may be allwright in 
every respect, but it is causing quite a lot of comment here.
Now I have nothing to do in the matter, my self and do not care
one way or the other, but they have been anoying me about it for
quite a while and asked me to write you about it, so it is up to 
you about it to as you see proper or care to, I refered all the
parties to you in the mater but they insisted that I write you,
which I, have done, and ends the matter with me.
