Beeler, a Notary Public in and for said County, State of Texas, this day personally came and appeared K.E. Bass to me well known, and who after being by me duly sworn, did depose and say that during the civil war he was a soldier of the confederacy in what was known as Ivie's Company, which was first organized as a Home Guard Co., but in the spring of 1864 said company became a part of the Sixth Louisiana Cavalry; that he joined the said Ivie's company in October 1863 and served with them until March 1864; that he knows and has known Geo. W. Bass for many years and knows that he was a soldier in the said Ivie's Co. during the time that this affiant was with that company, and that he was still with that organization in March 1864 at which time this affiant left that company.
