Armstead, Thomas, Smith.....14 Jun 1884
Colored W.C.T.U. - Last Sunday night at the Union Colored Baptist
Church, a Colored Women's Christian Temperance Union was organized, 
and a large number of both sexes joined. Some of the Ladies and
Gentlemen belonging to the White Society were on hand, and helped
organize. The following named officers were elected: Mrs. Cora L.
Armstead, President; Israel Thomas, Secretary; Mrs. Mariah Smith,
Secretary;   Mrs. A.M. Newman, Cor. Secretary.
