NECROLOGICAL.

Dr. James A. Cruikshank, aged 58 years, died at the family 
residence, on Bayou Rapides, Rapides parish, La., on Sunday, Dec.
6th, 1897.  The deceased was a native of this parish, where he 
had resided all his life and was one of our most prominent and 
esteemed citizens, professionally and otherwise, whose death will
be generally deplored.  His remains were interred in the family 
cemetery at McNutt's Hill, the Rev. Dr. Duncan performing the 
funeral services.
