All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm **************************************************************** Weekly Town Talk, Alexandria, La, Saturday May 31, 1913 INNIS - At her residence in South Third Street, Alexandria, La, on Thursday, May 17, 1913, at 1 PM, Miss Catherine Almira Innis, aged eighty one years. The funeral took place this morning at 10 o'clock, the procession leavingher late residence at that hour and preoceeding to St. James Episcopal Church where the service was conducted by the Rev Dr H. C. Dunvan. Interment was made in the Rapides Cemetery, Pineville in the family plot of General D. T. Stafford. The deceased was born in Rapides Parish and lived all of her life in the parish. She resided for most of her time on the Innis plantation on Bayou Rapides west of this city but for the past thirteen years resided in Alexandria. She leaves only one relative, a niece, Mrs. (Dr.) Slaughter who lives near Alexandria, Virginia. Miss Innis was a devoted member of the Episcopal church and attended the services regularly up to the time of being stricken ill, which was some years since.
