Creamer Source: Weekly Town Talk (Alexandria, Louisiana) 12 Dec 1908, Sat Page 11 Kramer. - At the family residence, corner of Fourth and Scott, Alexandria, La., on Saturday December 5th, 1908, at 6 p.m., John Kramer, aged seventy-seven years, 6 months and thirteen days. As the sweet-toned bells in the Catholic steeple were tolling the Angels gathered around the bedside in a house not far away was a solemn one that will not soon be forgotten by those who were wtenesses (sic). The aged father, surrounded by a loving wife and children, and relatives were watching his life ebb away, pronouncing the Amen to the [page crease] of the church for the parting [page crease] breathed his last. Peacefully that last breath taken, and while those who were witnesses, there was that consolation that with the knowledge that a life blesses that was blameless, innocent of having ever wronged his fellow man, or of having done aught that can cause regret. The last hour [page crease] with his loved ones, as a [page crease] memory. The deceased was born in Fischerbach, Baden, Germany, and came to Alexandria at the age of twenty-one. He resided for over fifty-six years in this city, and almost all of the time in the very spot where he died. He leaves a widow and twelve children. the children are Mrs. Jacob Haynes, Mrs. Charles Chavanne, of Alexandria; George P. Kramer, and Victor M. Kramer, of New York; Mrs. Dan Jacobs, of Lake Charles; William and John B. Kramer, Jr., of New Orleans; Casper, Philip, Michael, and Misses Luella and Catherine Kramer, of Alexandria. He also leaves eight grand-children. The nephews of Mr. Kramer are Alderman J. Norman and Mr. Ambroise Kramer, the nieces are Mrs. Florence [page crease] and Mrs. J.P. Turregano. The other relatives who were present at the death bed were Mr. George [page crease] sheimer and daughter, Miss Net [page crease] of New Orleans. Mr. Kramer was for thirty-two years in the undertaking business. he was a member of the old Alexandria fire company, and was a public-spirited [page crease]. The immdediate (sic) cause of his death was appoplexy (sic). The funeral took place this morning at 10 o'clock, leaving the family residence at that hour and proceeding to St. Francis Xavier Catholic church, from thence to the Rapides cemetery in Pineville. The Town Talk sympathizes with the family in their sad hour of bereavement.
