Mrs. Kramer was the widow of the late John Kramer, a prominent and respected citizen of Alexandria, who preceded her to the grave a number of years ago. She had been ill for the past four weeks, and passed away at the home of her brother, Mr. George Redersheimer. Mrs. Kramer was a native of Germany, but came to this country at the age of four years. She resided in New Orleans until the year 1869, at which time she came to Alexandria, and resided here continuously for fifty-one years. Since the death of her husband she has spent a considerable portion of her time in New Orleans. Mrs. Kramer was a devout Catholic and always adhered scrupulously to that faith. She was a most estimable woman and was possessed of a kind and amiable personality, which made friends of all with whom she came in contact. While her death had been expected for some days past, nevertheless it came as a great shock to her family and many friends. She was married to Mr. Kramer in 1870, and eleven children survive as the issue of the union. They are as follows: Messrs. George and Victor Kramer, of New York; Mrs. E. E. Chavanne and Mrs. M.A. Quilty, of Lake Charles; Mrs. Warren Oertling, Messrs. P.L. Kramer and J.B. Kramer, of New Orleans; Mrs. Dan Jacobs, Mrs. Josephine Haines, Messrs. C.P. Kramer and M.R. Kramer, of Alexandria. She also leaves twenty-four grandchildren and her brother, Mr. George Redersheimer, of New Orleans. Her remains will arrive here on the Texas & Pacific train this afternoon and will be conveyed to the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Dan Jacobs, 822 Elliot street. The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon, the procession leaving the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs at 4:30 o'clock and proceeding to St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral, where services will be conducted. Interment will be made in the Rapides cemetery in Pineville, under the direction of James Williams, of the Kelly undertaking establishment. Town Talk joins their many friends in extending to the bereaved children sincere sympathy in the loss of their idolized mother.
