He was born and raised in Avoyelles Parish in First Ward. He lived until the age of 62 years and 3 months. "He was first married to Maslene (sic) Snoddy and only lived a short time with her and she died, one child was born. Then he married Matilda Broussard, nine children were born; eight girls and one boy." He was laid to rest 1 July at 3 pm. in what is known as Hayes Cemetery. His funeral was conducted by Bro. Services for Mildred Townley Nunnally will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Hixson Bros., Pineville, with the Revs. Bob Galloway and Joe Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Mrs. Nunnally, 68, of Pineville died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in Rapides Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She had served in the past as pianist and Sunday School teacher at Northside Baptist Church and Lakeview Mission. She was formerly employed by the American Cancer Society and Dresser Industries. Survivors include her husband, Alvin N. Nunnally Sr. of Pineville; four sons, Alvin N. Nunnally Jr. and John Francis Nunnally, both of Pineville, James W. Nunnally of Houston, Texas, and David C. Nunnally of Ball; one daughter, Pamela N. LaCour of Pineville; four brothers, George Townley, M.V. Townley and Durwood Townley, all of Alexandria, and Carol Townley of Monroe; one sister, Helen Dupuy of Alexandria; and 13 grandchildren. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
