Pollard, 64, of Pitkin, died at 2 p.m. Thursday in an Oakdale hospital. He was a boiler fireman for the Central Louisiana State Hospital and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Iris D. Pollard of Pitkin; a half-brother, Fred Pollard of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Vicie Bond of Pitkin and Mrs. Lillie Nolan of Baton Rouge; three half-sisters, Mrs. Bessie Mae Ford, and Mrs. Lula Mae Smith both of New Caney, Tex., and Mrs. Lottie Pearl Bevins of Oakdale; and his step-mother, Mrs. Ella Pollard of New Caney, Tex. The remains will be at Mt. Olive Baptist church in Pitkin with services to be held there at 2 p.m. Saturday.
