He was a native of Alexandria and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Roberts was a retired carpenter and was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. One of his favorite pastimes was collecting Civil War relics and studying its history. His also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. It is said he loved people and never met a stranger. Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 until the funeral service with interment, with full military honors, in Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary. He is survived by his wife, his mother-in-law, a son and daughter-in- law, two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, a stepdaughter and stepson- in-law, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, a sister and brother-in- law, a special friend who served with him in the Army and his wife, a brother-in-law and his wife, a sister-in-law, 10 grandchildren, two grandsons-in-law, and three great-grandchildren.
