All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm **************************************************************** Weekly TownTalk, Alexandria, La, Saturday April 16, 1938 SCHEU- At the home of her nephew, Mr. Fred Hustmyre, 1118 Thirteenth Street, Alexandria, La on Monday April 11, 1938 at 12:30 PM Mrs. Cecelia Scheu, widow of the late Fred Scheu, who proceeded her in death thirty-eight years ago. Mrs. Scheu was born in Alexandria December 14, 1854 and was therefore 83 years and 4 months old at the time of her death. She made her home during her last days with her nephew, Mr. Hustmyre, in Thirteenth Street. The remains were taken to Hixon Bros. Undertaking parlor from which the funeral was held Tuesday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m. the service was held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cathedral and interment made in Rapides Cemetery, Pinveille, by the side of her late husband. Mrs. Scheu belonged to one of the oldest and most hightly thought of families of Rapides parish. She was a sister of the late Mrs. William Hustmyre, Sr and the late William Rexer, Sr. She is survived by rhe following nieces and nephews: Mrs. (Dr.) J. E. Dugger, William Hustmyre, Jacob Rexer, Misses Katie and Theresa Rexer, Mrs. Fred McCluskey of Galveston, Mrs. Draper D. Mintz of Houston, Mrs. Katie Lyons of Galveston, Mrs. Mamie Marshall of Mobile, Mrs. John Flattery of Denver
