Know All Men By These Presents, That We Nicholas F McNutt as prinicipal, and R C Hetherwick as security, are held and firmly bound unto the Governor of the State of Louisiana, in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars, the payment of which we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally by these presents. Dated at Alexandria, the 8th Day of July A.D. 1868 Whereas, a license has been this day issued by the Clerk of the Dis- trict Court in and for the Parish of Rapides, to unite in the Bond of Matrimony the above bound Mr. Nicholas F McNutt and Miss Emelie Louisa Powell Now Therefore, the conditions of the above obligation is such, that if ____ should exist no legal impediment to this alliance, then the said obligation to be null and void, else to remainin full force and virtue. Signed in presence of J W Hickman N F McNutt Clerk R C Hetherwick all witnesses of full age and resident in the said Parish and that then and there __ Mr. N F McNutt and Miss Emelie Louisa ____ having produced the License required by Law, signified their desire and intention, before us the said Minister and witnesses, to be united in the State of Matrimony. Whereupon after due proclamation made, and no impediment being suggested, they, the said Mr N F McNutt and M Emelie Louisa Powel were by me, the said D H Willis in the presence of the said witnesses, Joined In Wedlock according to the Laws of Louisiana, and by me the said Minister duly pronounced to be Husband and Wife. In Testimony Whereof, The Parties of the said marriage hereunto affix their signatures, together with me the said Minister and the aforesaid Witnesses, on this 14 day of July, 1868 at John Smiths in the Parish aforesaid.
