Elizabeth Gibson (27 Feb 1840 - 28 Mar 1909)

Know all men by these 
Presents that we Obedeah Johnson as Prin- 
cipal and Edward Weil as security 
are held & firmly bound unto the Governor of 
the State of Louisiana, in the full sum of 
Five Hundred Dollars, for the payment of which 
we bind ourselves our heirs & legal representatives 
by these presents; for this: that the said Obediah 
Johnson is about to contract matrimonial alliance 
with Mifs (blank) Gibson, now if there should be 
no legal impediment to the said marriage then the 
bond to be null and void.

You are hereby licensed and permitted to unite in the Bonds of Matrimony, 
according to law and established rules, Mr. Obediah Johnson 
and Miss Elizabeth Gibson.
Given under my hand and Seal of Office as Clerk of the District Court
in and for the Parish of Rapides, the 5th day
of December eighteen hundred and sixty-five.

THE STATE OF LOUISIANA}
PARISH OF RAPIDES}
Be it remembered that on the 5th day of Dec 1865 Mr. Obediah Johnson and Miss 
Elizabeth Gibson personally appeared before me R M Kilpatrick a Justice of Peace 
in and for the Parish of Rapides, together with Edward Weil Charles Hilbron & Wm 
J. Rogers all witnesses of full age, and residents in the said Parish, and that 
then and there said Mr. (blank) and (blank) having produced the license required 
by law, signified their desire and intention, before us the said (blank) and w
itnesses, to be united in the STATE OF MATRIMONY, Whereupon, after due proclamation 
made, and no impediment being suggested, they the said Mr. (blank) and (blank) 
were by me the said (blank) in the presence of the said witnesses JOINED IN WEDLOCK 
according to the laws of the State of Louisiana, and by me the said (blank) duly 
pronounced to be Husband and Wife.
In Testimony Whereof, the parties to the said marriage hereunto affix their signatures, 
together with me the said (blank) and the aforesaid Witnesses on this 5th day of 
Dec 1865, at Alex. LA in the Parish aforesaid.
