Strother, Sophia - Buxton, Valentine June 22, 1872 State of Louisiana Parish of Rapides Certificate No.: 210 State of Louisiana, Parish of Rapides 210 - Be it remembered, that on the 22nd day of June 1872, Valentine Buxton and Miss Sophia Strother personally appeared before me, J.J. Swann, in and for the Parish of Rapides, together with the subscribing witnesses, witnesses of full age and resident in the said parish, and that then and there, the said Valentine Buxton and Miss Sophia Strother produced the license reguired by law, signified their desire and intention, before us, the said Justice Peace and witnesses, to be united in the State of Matrimony. Whereupon, after due proclamation made, and no impediment being suggested, they, the said Valentine Buxton and Miss Sophia Strother, by the Justice Peace in the presence of the said witnesses, United in Wedlock, according to the laws of the State of Louisiana, and by me, the said Justice Peace duly pronounced Husband and Wife. In testimony whereof, the parties to the said Marriage hereunto affix their signatures, together with me, the Justice Peace and the aforesaid witnesses, on this 22 day of June 1872 at the residence, J P in the Parish aforesaid. State of Louisiana, Parish of Rapides - SS. ..All Men in these presents, that Mr. Valentine Buxton and Henry Stanley, as sceurity, are held and firmly bound for the State of Louisiana, in the sum of one hundred dollars for the payment of which we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, these presents. Dated at Alexandria, the 22 day of June A.D. 1872. Whereas, a license has been this day issued by the Clerk of the District Court in and for the Parish of Rapides, to unite in the Bond of Matrimony, the above bound Mr. Valentine Buxton and Miss Sophia Strother. Now therefore, the condition of the above obligation is such, that if their should exist no lawful impediment to this alliance, then the said obligation be null and void, else remain in full force.
