STATE OF LOUISANA PARISH OF RED RIVER
    Know all men by these presents that I, J. L. LOFTIN of the first part has 
this day sold and by these presents does transfer unto J. T. McDOWELL a 
certain tract or parcel of land it being and lying in the Parish of Red River 
and State of Louisiana and known as the following numbers, to wit: the South 
East Qr. of the south West Qr. of Section six, Township 13, of Range 8 
containing forty acres more or less for the consideration of one hundred and 
fifty dollars cash in hand paid and twenty five dollars paid November 1st 1887 
and the aforesaid Loftin does bind himself his heirs and assigns to warrant 
and defend the title unto the said J. T. McDOWELL, his heirs and assigns 
against all lawful claims whatsoever. Both parties residing in the State and 
Parish aforesaid and does sign their names in the presents (sic) of the 
subscribing witnesses this Nov. 27, 1888.

   Before me the undersigned authority personally came and appeared S. A. 
FLETCHER who being sworn says he saw the parties sign the foregoing act and 
now recognizes all the signatures are genuine.
