WATTS STATE OF LOUISIANA to PARISH OF RED RIVER L. D. WINGO Filed for record April 9, 1888 Know all men by these presents that I, JOHN W. WATTS, of the Parish of Red River and State of Louisiana that for and in consideration of the sum of ($670.00) six hundred and seventy dollars cash in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do by these presents donate, assign and set over with full guarantee against all troubles, debts, mortgages, claims, evictions, alienations or other encumbrances whatso unto LORENZA D. WINGO, the following described real estate or lot of land lying and being in the parish of Red River and State aforesaid together with all the improvements thereunto excepting two acres more or less this day deeded to the Methodist Episcopal Church South on which a Church house has been built, to wit: The West half of the North West quarter of Section twenty three in Township (13) thirteen of Range Nine West containing 79 acres and fifty eight hundreds of an acre. To have and to hold the same with the aforesaid exceptions, together with all the rights, privileges, immunities and appertenances unto the said LORENZA D. WINGO. Now to thes epresents personally came and appeared MADAME SELIA J. LATHAN, wife of JOHN W. WATTS, who declared and acknowledged that she did and does by these presents relinquish in favor of the said purchaser all interests that she may have either dotal or paraphernal or other interests in favor of the said purchaser in and to the abore and forementioned real estate. Thus done and signed at the Parish of Red River in the presence of the subscribing witnesses on this the 20th day of Sept. 1873. M. J. LINDSEY EDWIN FRIEND JOHN W. WATTS SELAH J. LATHAN L. D. WINGO L. D. WINGO, the purchaser of the within described being first by me duly sworn says that he bought the land and the deed was witnessed by M. J. LINDSEY and EDWIN FRIEND, the said LINSEY is now dead and said FRIEND has moved from the State, therefore could not have said deed proven by them.
