CSA Service Record
   WILLIAM ELVIS NEWMAN JR., enlisted on May 6, 1862 at Natchtoches as a 
Private in Company B, 11th Battalion, CSA. He  was a resident in the area that 
later bacame Red River Parish. He was paroled as a Second Lieutenant.
