Confederate War Record
   DANIEL M. GIDDENS, who lived in what is now Red River Parish, enlisted on 
June l, 1861 in Company A, 12th Louisiana Volunteer Infantry, according to his 
biography in "Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Northwest Louisiana", 
published in 1908. GIDDENS returned to Red River after the Civil War. He was a 
farmer.
