AVERITT of Coushatta, Red River, served during World War I as a Private in Louisiana 156th Infantry. He was born 23 March 1893 and died Sept. 2, 1950. AVERITT is buried in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Red River Parish. His stone is inscribed with his war record.
