Nicholson, who murdered the peddler, Marcus Young, on Col. Roubieu's plantation on the 25th of June, were captured by a party of men from Bienville on last Saturday night near Wilmington Landing, Arkansas, and were turned over to the sheriff and ironed down in jail here this evening. The whole country unite in rejoicing over their capture, and general relief is felt by all. A dispatch to the Natchitoches Vindicator, of the 20th, states that the Nicholsons had escaped from jail, causing great excitement. The Ouachita Telegraph Friday, October 8, 1875 Page 2, Column 4 A special dispatch from Coushatta to the Shreveport Times of the twenty-second, states that George and Henry Nicholson have been convicted of the murder of Marcus Young, and both sentenced to be hung. Thomas Hinton, who turned State's evidence in the case, was convicted of receiving stolen property, and sentenced to six years in the Penitentiary.
