The following members present: T. L. TERRY, president; F. ROUBIEN, SAM'L HARRIS, W. H. TREADWELL, J. H. RICH, and proceeded to organization,, the following persons were elected as officers: T. L. TERRY, president,, J. C. EGAN, Jr., clerk and legal adviser; W. F. EAMES, treasurer; DR. W. A. BOLYSTON, parish physician. The body adjourned to meet at 2:30 p.m. ROADS BRIDGES The body met pursuant to adjournment. Be it ordained by the Police Jury of the Parish of Red Riveer that it shall be the duty of each police juror of the parish to examine or cause to be examined by some reliable person the public roads in his respective Ward and see that they are kept in good order, and give ten days' warning to road overseers when they have not worked the roads properly and in case of neglect to put their roads in good condition after such warning to report said overseers for non-performance of duty. Be it further ordained, etc. that it shall be the duty of the road overseers to caall out road hands at least three times a year to work the roads, the said overseers shall work the roads at least six days during the year, and 12 days during the year if necessary. The sum of fifty dollars was appropriated to build a bridge across Honey Bayou near MRS. CLARK'S plantation, and forty dollars was appropriated to build a bridge across Cross Bayou near J. F. JOHNSON plantation. The President was authorized to sell the public ferries of the Parish to the last and highest bidder and to take a bond for the security of the payment of same. The petition of the citizens of East Point to build a bridge across Bayou La Chute was considered and W. H. TREADWELL was appointed a commissioner with the privilege of selecting two others to inquire into the necessity of building such a bridge and make an estimate of the probably expense to the parish for building the same. The report of the commissioners to map out a new road was adopted said road to commence where the public road on the east side of Red River crosses township line between sections (13 and 14) running east of Coushatta Bayou, down and crossing same at or near Bolieu Springs, and running a southeast direction and intersecting Coushatta or Lake Road near Camp Grounds.
