Whereas the Police Jury of Red River Parish, in the state of Louisiana did at its session on the 17th day of January 1896 ordain that an election should be held in the Parish of Red river on Feb. 27, 1896 at the several polling places at which place the last preceeding general election was held. Now we the Board of Supervisors of election in and for Red River duly qualified, commissioned and sworn, by virtue of authority invested, do hereby give public notice that on the 27th day of February 1896, an election will be held ... for the purpose of taking the sense and taking the wishes of the property taxpayers of the said parish upon the question of levying a special tax of five miles per annum for the period of ten years from and beginning January, 1897. Commissioners are instructed to open said Election at six o'clock a.m. and close the same at 7 o'clock p.m. in accordance with Section 22 of Act. 181 of the Acts of 1894.
