CLOTILDE BROWN, 83, were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2000 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Coushatta with the REV. BILL HINES officiating, assisted by SISTER JEAN WOOD. Burial was in Springville Cemetery in Coushatta. MRS. BROWN went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2000, at IHS- Pierremont in Shreveport, after an extended illness. She was born on Sept. 17, 1916, in East Point, La., and had resided in the Jordan Ferry community and in Coushatta most of her life. She owned and operated Brown's Grocery in Red River Parish at Jordan Ferry for 44 years. MRS. BROWN took much pride in the land she owned in Natchitoches and Red River Parishes. She was preceded in death by her husband, CLEVELAND BROWN, a daughter, CHARLOTTE ELAINE BROWN, and her parents, OBIE and BESSIE NIX WEBB. Survivors include her daughter, GLORIA JEAN BROWN of Shreveport; granddaughters, ABBY MARIE CANERDAY, and CAROL CHRISTINE CANERDAY HEARRON and her husband, MICHAEL, all of Shreveport; brothers, BURNELL WEBB and VERNON WEBB of Coushatta; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were GEORGE KILLEN, JR., GARY KILLEN, RONALD WEBB, RALPH WEBB, SANDY WEBB, ALLEN WEBB, NOLAN WEBB and DOUGLAS WEBB. The family would like to express their appreciation to their many friends. Special thanks to Green Meadow Haven Nursing Home of Coushatta (especially to GLADYS MYERS and CHARLOTTE LAYFIELD) and to IHS-Pierremont in Shreveport, (especially MARY GOINS, DDAWIECE LAFOE, EVELYN FULLER and BETTY DODSON), for the love and sweet care and concern given to MRS. CLOTILDE BROWN. Also a sincere thanks to JEAN of Hospice of Shreveport for her loving assistance. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, La.
