VIOLET CARLISLE, 78, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel in Coushatta. Officiating will be BRO. SCOTT THOMPSON. Internment will be in Zion Cemetery in Fairview. MRS. CARLISLE passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000. She was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Red River Parish and was a resident of Coushatta. MRS. CARLISLE was a member of Martin Baptist church. She owned and operated Carlisle Grocery for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her husband, DAYTON I. CARLISLE. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, MYRLE and BARBARA CARLISLE of Coushatta, DAYTON and ELLEN CARLISLE of Coushatta; daughters and son-in-law, VILLEA RAE and MAX BROWNING of Bethany; brother, I. L. "BUCK" DICKSON of Coushatta; sister, MERCILLE LINTON of Clarksville, Tx.; grandchildren, CONNIE COKER, KATHY CARLISLE, MAXIE KITCHINGS JR., KIMBERLY MANGHAM and WESLEY CARLISLE; great grandchildren, DYLAN COKER, KAYLAN COKER, KATIE KITCHINGS, GARRET KITCHINGS, CHANCE TAYLOR and KALEE MANGHAM; a number of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be DAVID ADKINS, JODY COKER, JERRY KITCHINGS, MAXIE KITCHINGS, JR., TOMMY ROSS, DANNY SNEAD and MIKE VAIL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Martin Baptist Church Building Fund.
