MAURINE HUNTER DRY, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Monday, April 22, 2002 in Presque Isle, Maine, following a lengthy battle with diabetes. MRS. DRY was preceded in death by her husband, JOHN F. DRY JR. and her parents, OLIVER B. HUNTER and MRS. LAVADA BREEDLOVE HUNTER, all natives of Red River Parish. She attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Besides being a busy and loving mother and grandmother, she was retired from a career in the U.S. Civil Service. She is survived by one daughter, MRS. STEPHANIE GUESS of Presque Isle, Maine; two sons JOHN F. DRY III of Biloxi, Miss. and CRAIG DRY of Austin, Tx.; and seven grandchildren, CHRISTOPHER MAPES, IAN FLANNERY, MELISSA FLANNERY, FORREST FLANNERY, GARRETT FLANNERY, MICHAEL DRY and ANNA DRY. Burial was in Springville Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
