The Shreveport Times April 6, 1960
  E. M. HAND, 85, of Coushatta, died Tuesday at 7:40 p.m. in a local hospital 
after a short illness.
  A retired farmer, MR. HAND was a lifelong resident of Coushatta.
  Survivors include five daughters, MRS. L. N. CHILDS of Bakersfield, Calif.; 
MRS. EVA BARNWELL of Shreveport; MRS. GEORGE JOURNER of Los Angeles, Calif.; 
MRS. B. E. COODY of Anderson, Ind.; and MRS. T. EDWARDS of Bossier City; four 
sons: JOHN DEE HAND of Coushatta; LISSO HAND of Freeport, Tex.; DR. E. A. HAND 
of Springhill, and DRINNON HOUSTON of Freeport, Tex.; two brothers, B. H. HAND 
and L. F. HAND, both of Hall Summit; and a sister, MRS. CLYDE MORELAND of Hall 
Summit.
   Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Hand Cemetery 
near Coushatta.
