Shreveport Times July 13, 1976
   COUSHATTA -- JOHN DEE HAND SR., 81,a lifelong resident of Coushatta, died 
early Sunday morning in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Shreveport 
after a short illness. MR. HAND had been residing in Heritage Manor Nursing 
Home in Bossier City.
   Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Hand Cemetery near Coushatta 
under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home of Coushatta.
   Survivors are three sons, JOHN D. HAND, JR. of Shreveport, WILLIAM A. HAND 
of Corpus Christi, Tex., and COL. HENRY L. HAND of Bossier City; three 
sisters, MRS. LAURA JOYNER of Paradise, Calif., MRS.  T. EDWARDS of Bossier 
City and MRS. BERT COODY of Ohio; two brothers, LISSO HAND of Lake Jackson, 
Tex., and DR. E. A. HAND of Natchitoches; 15 grandchildren and three great-
great grandchildren.
