Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was her nephew, REV. BILLY ORR of Tyler, Tx. and REV. HARRY BAMBURG of Coushatta. Interment was in Thomas-Wren Cemetery in Martin. MRS. THOMAS was born, raised her family, and lived her life on the land of her ancestors dating to to REV. JOHN DUPREE who established Liberty Baptist Church in the 1850's of which she became a member at age 13. MRS. THOMAS farmed and raised cotton and cattle with her husband, the late T. G. "DOC" THHOMAS for 64 years until his death. She was a lady of great character and high ideals which was exemplified by the recognition of her 12 years perfect work attendance record while employed by Sunbeam Appliance Company. MRS. THOMAS leaves behind a son, KENNETH TOLBERT THOMAS and his wife, JENNY, of Martin, and a daughter, DONNA ROGERS and her husband, BILLY, of Coushatta. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, SUSAN DAVIS of Doyline, STACIA and WAYNE ARMER of Conroe, Tx., JESSICA THOMAS of Alband, N. Y., and TOLBERT NICHOLAS THOMAS of Martin, and a great granddaughter, DEVIN ARMER. Four sisters-in-law, REVA FOSTER of Shreveport, SHIRLEY LOFTIN of Doyline, OPAL LOFTIN of Coushatta and OLETA CUMMINGS of Baytown, Tx. and a host of special nieces and nephews also survive her. MRS. THOMAS will always be remembered for the loving and caring devotion she shared with her family and friends. She had a real talent for always seeing one's best side and making one feel special. She lived her life for others, especially for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
