   WOODARDVILLE, RINGGOLD, LA. -- A memorial and celebration service will be 
held Saturday, 3:30 p.m. , June 25, 2005 in the Post Hall, American Legion 
Post #388, 5401 Highway 527, Koran, La. of which "BILL" was a member. He 
passed away on June 14, 2005 in the Overton Brooks Veterans Administration 
Hospoital of Shreveport, just after his 70th birthday, June 12. MR. WOODARD 
was born in 1935 and reared in Ringgold. Cremation process was at Boone 
Funeral Home of Bossier. His ashes were to be scattered on receipt of a stone 
marker from Washington, D.C., which was to be placed in Social Springs 
Cemetery, near the tombstones of his parents.
   After some 20 plus years of service (1953-1973) in the U.S. Marine Corps, 
he retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was a veterean of two major conflicts, 
Korea and Vietnam. He lived in Ringgold, and spent many hours on Lake 
Bistineau, and worked at the Army Ammunition Plant and Battery Plants in 
Webster and Bossier Parishes.
   He, like his family, was baptized and a member of Social Springs Baptist 
Church in Ringgold. BILL was preceded in death by his parents, WILLIAM LORA 
and EFFIE WOODARD and a brother, LORA WAYNE WOODARD.
   Survivors are his brother, DONALD RAY and wife, ROSEMARY; nieces: TAMMY, 
ELIZABETH and JENNIFER; uncle, LEONARD WOODARD; nephew - P-NUT and sister-in-
law, LINDA; a very special friend, MISS BARBARA CHAMBLEE, and numerous 
cousins, step-children, nieces and nephews.
