WOODARD of Coushatta, was called home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 18, 2006 after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 29, 1928 in Coushatta. MR. WOODARD was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to everyone he met. His family and friends will miss him. His priorities in life were the Lord, his family, church family, and friends. He never met a stranger and always saw the good in people. He was a veteran of World War II. MR. WOODARD retired from Yellow Freight after being a truck driver for 31 years. He was also proud to drive a church bus for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, GUYLINE WALKER WOODARD; parents, AULSIE HENRY WOODARD and ALMA RUTH McCOY WOODARD; three sisters, NORMA WOODARD ALEXANDER, CLOTHILDE WOODARD CANNON and SALLY WOODARD VAUGHN; and one brother, JOHN R. WOODARD. Survivors are nine wonderful children and their spouses, JOE and LINDA DAVIS, THERESA and DANIEL SANDERS, GLYNDA DURHAM, JOHN and GWEN WOODARD, THOMAS and PATSEY WOODARD, MARILYN and DAVID ANGLE, WANDA LOPEZ, GARY and TINA WOODARD and DAVID and CONNIE WOODARD; a special "adopted" son, BARRY TABER and wife, GRACE; four sisters, GRACE WOODARD LINDSAY, LAURA (PIDGIE) McCOOPER, MIRIAM WOODARD ELLIOTT and IMA JEAN WOODARD SMITH; 30 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was all day Friday, July 21, 2006 until 9 p.m. at Rose-Neath Coushatta Funeral Home. Services celebrating his life were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Magnolia Baptist Church. Officiating was REV. DONNIE COX, assisted by REV. RANDY JOHNSON and REV. CAD FLOYD. Interment was held in Old Chapel Cemetery in Coushatta. Pallbearers were his nephews.
