The Elliott family was not the first to get a Model T Ford in Red River Parish.
According to the Coushatta Citizen, the first was probably purchased in 1909 by
Oliver B. Ferguson. In 1914, a Sunday drive around Red River was a special treat
for the William H. Elliott family, especially for the two grandchildren, Eva 
and John D. McDonald. On the right of Sheriff Elliott is daughter, Edna Elliott
Scott, in the center is daughter, Susie Mae McDonald.
