 Lone Cherry Church

The Lone Cherry Church, founded by a small group in the year
1899, was named for the one cherry tree which stood among 
the oaks on the church site. The original church building 
has been since replaced by a modern brick building. The 
children of the church picked cotton to pay for the windows 
of the original building, and the minister, a Rev. Jones, 
served during his first year without pay. (Richland Beacon-
