McConnell Clerk Seventh District Court Duly Recorded in Probate Book H; folio 311 Ellis & Ellis Attorneys at Law TO THE HONORABLE SEVENTH DISTRICT COURT IN AND FOR THE PARISH OF RICHLAND, LOUISIANA      The petition of Frances Jennie Prewett, nee Bell wife of W. S. Prewett, Ada F. Vickers, nee Bell wife of M. C. Vickers, Ella E. Boughton, nee Bell wife of R. S. Boughton, Nettie Ferguson, nee Bell wife of T. P. Ferguson, Etta J. Montgomery, nee Bell wife of L. W. Montgomery, Jesse P. Bell, and Rebecca Elizabeth Bell, all residents of Richland Parish, La. and Leo Cobb Vickers, a minor represented herein by N. Cobb Vickers, his duly qualified tutor, respectfully represent;      1.  That Mrs. Dulcie Bell, wife of Thos. B. Bell, died intestate in the parish of Richland, La. Feby. 13, 1908, leaving a considerable amount of real and personal property,      2.  That at the date of the death of Mrs. Dulcie Bell she left eight children, being your first seven named petitioners, and Mrs. Lola A. Vickers, who died in the year 1915 leaving Leo Cobb Vickers, a minor, as her son and sole and only heir.      3.  That said Mrs. Lola A. Vickers left no property except the interest she inherited in the estate of her mother, Mrs. Dulcie Bell.      4.  That neither of the above decedents left any debts.      5.  That your petitioners have and do accept the successions of said decedents unconditionally.      6.  That petitioners have long since divided the personal property left by the said decedents.      7.  That petitioners should now be recognized as owners in common and in equal proportions of the real estate left by Mrs. Dulcie Bell at her death, the minor Leo Cobb Vickers being entitled to the interest of his mother, Mrs. Lola A. Vickers.      8.  That the real estate is described as follows; an undivided ˝ interest in and to the W1/2 of SW1/4 (less 10 acres in NW corner) Sec 34; N1/2 of SW1/4 of SE1/4 and SE1/4 of SE1/4 Sec 33; S1/2 of SE1/4 and SE1/4 of SW1/4 Sec 31 T 15 N R 6 E; NE1/4 of NE1/4 Sec 4 Twp. 14 N R 6 E containing 290 acres.      9.  That said read estate was not worth more than the sum of $2900 at the date of the death of said Mrs. Dulcie Bell.      10.  That petitioners do not owe any inheritance tax but Mark A. Cooper, Sheriff of this parish, should be cited so he may be heard by the court on the question as to whether or not any inheritance tax is due.      Wherefore your petitioners pray that Mark A. Cooper, Sheriff, be cited to appear and answer this petition as to the question of inheritance tax, and that upon final trial your first seven named petitioners, together with Mrs. Lola A. Vickers be recognized as having been the sole and only heirs of Mrs. Dulcie Bell at the date of her death, and that Leo Cobb Vickers be recognized as the sole and only heir of Mrs. Lola A. Vickers, deceased, and as such heirs your petitioners be recognized as owners in common and in equal proportions and as such they are placed in possession of the real estate described in this petition; prays further for all orders necessary in premises and for general relief. Vickers, Deceased State of Louisiana Parish of Richland 7th District Court      An application having been made by the heirs of the above decedents, the sheriff having been cited and having filed an answer; this case having been reached on the docket of this court, a trial having been had, the law and evidence being in favor of petitioners, for the reason this day orally assigned by the court, it is;      ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED; that Frances Jennie Prewett, Ada D. Vickers, Ella E. Boughton, Nettie Ferguson, Etta J. Montgomery, Jesse P. Bell, Rebecca Elizabeth Bell and Lola A. Vickers be recognized as having been the sole and only heirs of Mrs. Dulcie Bell at the date of her death, and the minor, Leo Cobb Vickers be and he is hereby recognized as the sole and only heir of Lola A. Vickers, deceased, and that as such heirs said parties are hereby recognized as owners in common and in equal proportions of the following described real estate situated in Richland Parish, La; an undivided ˝ interest in and to the W1/2 of SW1/4 (less 10 acres in NW corner) Sec 34; N1/2 of [remainder of page is missing] Suc. Cooper, Sheriff and Tax Collector, and for answer to the petition filed herein with reference to the question of inheritance tax respectfully represents;      1.  that from his personal knowledge of the applicants and their family, and from his official records, he does not believe3 that any inheritance tax is due by any of the said applicants.      Wherefore respondants prays that this case be taken up and judgement rendered according to law.
