H. Dollarhide Notary Public in and for said Parish and State duly commissioned sworn and acting as such, personally came B. R. McLemore, a resident of said Parish and State who declared unto me in the presence of the undersigned competent witnesses to wit: that he has bargained, sold, transferred, delivered and by these presents bargain, sell transfer, and deliver to Mrs. A. J. McLemore, wife of John T. Mason, residents of said Parish and State but separate in property from her said husband, the following described property situated in said Parish of Richland with all the buildings and improvements thereon to wit: An undivided one-half interest in and to lots numbers one hundred and three, ninety-nine, eighty-three and eighty-four (103, 99, 83 84) by the Owen Survey in the Town of Delhi, Louisiana- said property fronting on Front Street and running back to Second Street in plat and survey by Andrew Owen. The property herein conveyed being an undivided half of that purchased by this vendor and the succession sale of H. W. McLemore deceased made the 6th day of October,1883. The price for which this sale is made is the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars. Two hundred dollars cash in hand paid of the separate and _______funds of Mrs. A. J. Mason and under her own administration and control, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged.  And for the remainder of the said purchase price the said Mrs. A. J. Mason aided , authorized, and assisted by her husband- has executed and signed hereto _________ promissory notes for two hundred seventy five dollars -payable to her own order and by her endorsed in blank each bearing [even]? With this act, one due and payable six months after date and one due and payable twelve months after date each bearing eight percent per annum interest from date. Each of said notes being par _______? by me to identify them more fully for this act. And the said Mrs. Mason being present and accepting this sale and being herein authorized, aided and assisted by her husband-declares that in order to secure more fully the payment of each of said notes and interest, she hereby specially mortgages and hypothecates in favor of said vendor and any future bona fide holder or owner of said note-the property herein conveyed, and promises not to alienate or encumber said property to the prejudice of the mortgage.
