Richland Beacon News- Rayville, Louisiana October 8, 1904
                       Confederate Monument

    The Daughters of the Confederacy of Shreveport, La. have awarded the 
contract for the construction of the Confederate monument in the Confederate 
monument in the Courthouse Square to Frank Teich of San Antonio, Texas.  The 
monument will cost $10,000.  It will be a shaft twenty-six feet high, with the 
base supported by figures of Confederate soldiers and sailors and a female 
figure holding a scroll.
