Richland Beacon News-Rayville June 13, 1891
  Another Confederate Veteran passed away on the 6th, Mr. J.F. McGuire,
He breathe his last at 9:00 A.M.
  Mr. McGuire enlisted in the Southern Confederate, leaving town on April 26, 
1861, with the Seveneenth Louisiana Regent, as aidecamp to Col. Robert 
Richardson.  He was for a number of years a Sheriff of Ouachita Parish, La.
  He belong to the Masonic order and the Knoght of Pythas.  He was very 
popular gentleman, people regret his death.
