FIRE AT RAYVILLE

The Business Portion of the Town Destroyed—The Loss

   NEW ORLEANS, November 27—The Picayune’s Rayville, La., special 
says:  A fire broke out here this morning in the warehouse of Chas. Tiche, 
and consumed nearly the main business block of the town North of the 
Vicksburg, Shreveport and Pacific railroad.
   The loss of $45,000 was distributed among these firms and persons:  
L. M. Scott, $6,000; Mrs. O. Pethit, $2,000; Mrs. Pitts, $2,000; Charles 
Tick, $12,000; S. Kohn, $7,000; Mrs. M. Jones, $1,000; W. H. Jones, $3,000; 
Mrs. W. Valida, $500; J. W. Simms, $5,000; National Construction Company,
 $30,000; Vicksburg, Shreveport and Pacific Railroad, $7,000.
