October 29, 1904 Robbed Old Soldier Two young white men, George Jackson and Charlie Holt, charged with holding up and robbing T.J. Cooper, an aged and crippled ex-Confederate soldier from Lincoln Parish, in the east end, on September 27, 1904 and were found guilty in the District Court. Ellisworth Gorden, also charged with the crime, did not appear at the trial and his bond was ordered forfeited.
